Alginate-Based Nanosystems for Therapeutic Applications

Alginate is being explored widely for an array of medicinal and diagnostic measures by way nanosystems fabricated techniques along the lines drug delivery, imaging, tissue regeneration, etc. Their biocompatibility, nontoxicity, sensitivity to pH, mucoadhesiveness, biodegradability have invited extensive body work in this field. gelling ability facilitates encapsulation different molecules like drugs, proteins, genes, through formation multidimensional matrices. Furthermore, feasibility alginates physical chemical modification allows appropriate synthesis their application. The current review highlights delivery therapeutic compounds via alginate as effective, eco-friendly alternative expediting controlled target-specific release.
